Threes – Game Review

I’m always on the lookout for decent games to play on-the-go. I think all these years of playing games have burned me out a little bit and it’s the truly unique games, or those that give you the freedom to play your way (look out for my Fary Cry 4 and AC: Unity reviews), are the ones that appeal most. Threes fits the bill of being unique (and charming to boot!).

At first glance, Threes looks like a boring maths game. It’s not really though. You can swipe up/down/left/right and all tiles move in that direction if they can. The beauty is in the simplicity for me, the challenge is in the strategy you employ to get higher and higher scores. At its most basic level you move tiles until you can add a 1 & 2 or a 3&3 together. You then add tiles of the same value to get higher and higher numbered tiles to match up. Every move you make adds a new tile and you get an indicator telling you what is next to join the board – always a 1 or a 2 or a 3. Be careful where you add them or you run out of space quickly!

You’ll spend a long time with this game, it’s a great time waster. Just don’t blame me if you miss a deadline or an appointment because of it! You’re welcome 🙂

Threes is available on your mobile handset of choice. Both Apple Store and Google Play have it in their shops. Highly recommended!
